November Rewind Playlist

Alright, I'm trying to branch out and do some experimenting with some new stuff for the blog.  Here we've got something I want to start doing regularly, a monthly rewind playlist.  This bad boy has 20 of the best tracks from the last month (most if not all available for free download on the blog).  Everything from face melters to house bangers to chill rap to Johnny Cash (that song is bomb).  If you hear something you like, just click on the artist's name in the cloud on the right hand side of the blog and it should be easy to find the link for the song from there.  Enjoy, and let me know if you would have any additions or subtractions from the playlist.

Leftovers

3 weeks left over here in the UK, and then its back on some home soil.  Semester flew by.  And to make things even more crack it snowed yesterday, the earliest the UK has ever seen snow.  Here are some leftover (but still firey hot) jams from this week.  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  Keep ragin.

Deadmau5 - Cthulhu Sleeps (Original Mix)
This song leaked (along with the rest of the album "4x4=12") this week and I gotta say, the album is good. It's true that it is a lot of stuff that he put in his live show this past year, but he touched everything up and perfected it for the album.  This is one of my favorite tracks on the new joint, but there are a handful of other good ones; Some Chords, Raise Your Weapon, & Right This Second to name a few.

Professor Green feat. Lily Allen - Just Be Good to Me (Joker Remix)
Pretty unique jam right here, Professor Green is a young rapper from the UK who is pretty popular around here.  He collaborates with dubstep artists frequently.  This re-work of his song "Just Be Good to Green" has a dubstep flow throughout it but has enough mix of vocals and instrumental to make it still fairly hip-hop.  Good stuff overall.  Must download.

T.I. - Welcome to the World (feat. Kanye West & Kid Cudi)
The star power on this track is enough to make it worth a listen.  Three of the best in the game crank out a single to T.I.'s new album "No Mercy", which will be released on December 7th.  Awesome song.

Banger Alert!

After hearing this song my banger alert is going off like crazy.  When Benassi puts out a jam, he makes it count.  "House Music" just dropped and it's just an all around great electro house track.  Deep bass as usual from Benny, and face melting drops and synth madness.  There is even already a sweet remix of this song by Autoerotique, and it's been out for less than a month.  Dear lord.  This track is a keeper.

Benny Benassi - House Music (Original Mix)

Dutched Out

Amsterdam is quite the city, I have to say.  Spent a beautiful weekend enjoying the various luxuries that the city has to offer.  Pretty burnt out after a day of traveling today (I woke up in Amsterdam at 7 and was in London by 10:30), but heres some sweet new house and dubstep.  I heard some money Dutch House while I was over there.  For those who aren't aware...Afrojack is probably the biggest name in Dutch House and is really bringing the subgenre to the general "House" populus.  The beats rely on heavy bass drums and really high pitched synth riffs that sound almost like sirens.  Gets the job done for me, here are the tunes.  Some good dubstep in there too for good measure.

Deviance - Fellatio (Alvaro Remix)
Like I said, heavy track with really high pitched main electronic riffs in there.  Pretty good, funny vocal sample too, always good to see.

Gianni Marino - Move & Break (Original Mix)
I bet there are a lot of people out there who have heard this song without realizing they were hearing it.  Has been remixed by a lot of people but the original is legendary.  Another classic Dutch jam.

TV Rock - Son of 91 (Afrojack 2010 Remix)
Afrojack is the king of the Dutch House scene, so he had to make an appearance.  The original jam lends some great vocals and a great piano riff, but Afrojack sends it into overdrive with some serious drops.  One of the first Afrojack songs I ever heard.

Statelapse - Hurt You (ft. KP)
Dubstep jam right here, 2 dudes "Statelapse" from Northern UK.  Really, really heavy shit.  Vocals on this track are unreal, these guys throw in so much crazy, distorted shit on all their songs, I love it.  Check out their other stuff too, "Trash Talk" is another great song of theirs.

The Good Life

My two week mini-vacation from all things academic continues this weekend with a 3 day trip to Amsterdam to meet up with one of my good buddies.  While we will not be attending any crazy house or dubstep shows this weekend, we will surely be having equally ludicrous adventures.  Cannibus cup, dreams do come true...  Last post of the week for me, can't let anything like a computer distract me from the wonders of Amsterdam.  I will leave you with some fresh tunes though before I go, a little more hip-hop than usual here.

Chris Lake - Sleepwalker (Original Mix)
Chris Lake is yet another up and coming artist on the mau5trap label.  Bangin' house track that sounds like the mau5 himself may have had a hand in this production.  Sure to climb the beatport charts quickly.

Dr Dre - Kush (ft. Snoop Dogg, Akon)
Dr Dre?!?!?! DETOX!?!?!? For REAL!!?!?! Supposedly, this is the first official single from "Detox", but I'll believe it when I see it.  This album has supposed to have come out like every month for the last year.  Just drop the fucking album already, Dre.

Birdman & Lil Warne - Fire Flame (Remix)
Wayne is goin to work, I'm telling you, the Carter IV will be so much better than Carter III.  If he keeps this up it's a guarantee.

Best. Weekend. Ever

-
This weekend I met my rage companion Quez to go to a dubstep show at Club Fabric in the heart of London.  We had bought tickets on Bassnectar's webstie thinking it would be a mere Bassnectar show with maybe a special guest or two.  Well, we arrived at Fabric already feeling incredibly "friendly" and ready to go at about 9:30 and after 30 minutes of waiting in line we were let in.  Immediately employees began sprinting around the club stapling pieces of paper to the wall.  When we got closer we realized what we had gotten ourselves into.  The paper contained the schedule for the evenings 8 hour dubstep extravaganza, officially entitled "Beatdown 2010".

18 differents acts performed on 3 stages from 10:00-6:00 in the morning.  We compiled our list of artists to see and executed to perfection.  As we walked further and further underground (the only thing above ground level in this club is the coat check), we got to the almighty Stage 1.  We saw (in order): Mutants, Jagga, Rusko, Doctor P, and Bassnectar.  My favorite performance was Bassnectar, the guy is just insane and his light show was the best by far, his bass literally rocked the place as well.  Second was a tie between Rusko and Doctor P.  Rusko is definitely a crowd-pleaser and his music brought the party, people were going insane.  Doctor P was sick as well, his set surprised me, his shit was so heavy and the crowd was unreal during his set, the place was nuts.  Mutants and Jagga are somewhat lesser known but they were both very very good and we were able to get really close to the stage for both.  Bottom line is this is something that would never happen in America and I am so glad I got to experience this.  How was your Friday night?

Anyway, I could talk all damn day about this ridiculous show, but I'll give you what you're here for.  Some brand new music.  I haven't had a post in a couple days so I've got some real good stuff for you.

Porter Robinson - I'm On Fire (Original Mix)
Porter Robinson has been on here before, but only as a remixer.  This is a little taste of his original work, which is just as good as his remix work.  Robinson is an up and coming electro-house superstar.  Keep an eye on him.

Example - Last Ones Standing (Doctor P Remix)
Come on, there's no way I could have not put some Doctor P on here after seeing how utterly insane his live show is.  Like I said, he is one of the heaviest and grimiest dubstep artists out there, so if you like that heavy shit that bumps like it should, check this jam out.

Nadia Ali - Rapture (Avicii New Generation Mix)
Quickly climbing to the top of the Beatport charts, this jam is a genuine banger and is essential for any pregame or party that wants to achieve total ragetasticness.  Some say that Avicii is like a baby Tiesto, could be true but this track does make him one thing: seriously awesome.

Jamiroquai - Blue Skies (Flux Pavilion Remix)
I've still got the dubstep fever after that epic show.  So here's another fresh ass dubstep track to end this post off.  Totally ragin' and heavy as shit which you can expect on the reg from Flux Pavilion.  Definitely one of my favorite dubstep guys.  Everything he drops is pure fire.

See You Bitches Next Week

Alright, I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a weekend in London to see Bassnectar and Rusko at Club Fabric in the heart of merry Londontown, and I am fucking jacked up for it to say the least.  Should be an epic weekend with the aid of some prime substances.  So here's my farewell post for the weekend showcasing the two artists I will be seeing live.  Look for videos on the Ready2Rage facebook page upon my return.  Peace.

Bassnectar - Boombox (Bassnectar and ill.gates Remix)
Original is great, but this shits better.  Whoever ill.gates is he brings the fire to every collaboration with Bassnectar.

Bassnectar - Here We Go
Favorite song off my favorite Bassnectar album (Timestretch, I would say Wildstyle Method but its only an EP technically).  This song bumps real hard and its going to burn the house down live.

Rusko - Cockney Thug
Pretty much the essential Rusko track.  Great Alan Ford voice sample (Brick Top from Snatch, one of the greatest movie villains ever).  Ready to get my wubwubwub on to this one.

Care to Party?

Slavemon here with some skanky dubstep to melt some brains. As some well know dubstep has blown up the scene in America this year so were sure to see some hot new artists and fresh material comen in on the reg

Here's two essential dubstep tunes from this summer by Flux and Masuka for anyone who truly wants to increase the weirdness without freaking people out too much...

N.A.S.A. (Feat. Kanye West, Santigold & Lykke Li) - Gifted (Masuka Remix)

Freestylers - Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix)

Two songs released from the UK this year that iv'e been jamming to recently. The first is a great remix of keep the fire by bar 9. Its got a relaxed feel to it and then hits u with a solid drop coupled with some sweet bass wobble.

Goldhawks - Keep the fire (Bar 9 Remix)

the second song by modestep comes straight out of london. Its got a different feel to it starting off with a regular tempo with some classic dub bass then it speeds up and takes you to a whole new level of filthiness

Modestep - Sunlight

Wolfgang Gartner Essential Mix is Bananas, New Deadmau5 Track Released

Just got finished listening to this week's Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, with Wolfgang Gartner on the 1s and 2s of course.  Let me tell you, this shit is phenomenal.  If you need a 2 hour playlist to keep a party bumping, this is what you need to throw on.  62 tracks in total, and it flows oh so nicely.  I have included the link to download the entire mix below, be patient its 2 hours and its 273 MB.  Pete Tong also dropped yet another cut off Deadmau5's upcoming album "4x4=12".  The track "Right This Moment" is definitely in my top 3 favorites off the album so far, and there are 8 (count em, 8) tracks that are already out there on the interwebs to download fresh off the new album.  So, enjoy the Wolfgang mix as well as this newly ripped Deadmau5 track, serious bangers.  The Deadmau5 tune ends a little abruptly but what are ya gonna do, it's ripped from the full set so you can't get it perfect.  On a side note, I have a shit ton of work coming up in the next few days and I'll be in London from Friday-Sunday to see Bassnectar, so expect to see some fantastic work from other authors.  Let's see what ya got.

Dubstep Revisited

I haven't been posting a ton of dubstep on the blog recently, don't know why.  I suppose I don't have the greatest resources for brand new dubstep shit that comes out, I follow more Electro/House/Hip Hop type sources for all the music I put up here.  So, I just thought I would throw a few recent as well as older dubstep tracks up to quench the thirst of all our readers.  As the blog grows, I'm sure we will find an author who is a dubstep specialist...

Doctor P - Big Boss
I just started listening to Doctor P, and this is by far his hardest hitting track.  Awesome riffs in there, and the wobble (or screech) bass in there feels like you are getting electronic insanity injected directly into your brain.  Woah.  Yeah, download it.

The Pixies - Where Is My Mind (Bassnectar Remix)
Most people will recognize this song, whether or not they have heard the Bassnectar remix.  One of the first Bassnectar tracks I ever had.  Had to put it up, I am seeing him live on Friday night in London.  Super jacked up for that.

Boy Crisis - Dressed to Digress (Nero Remix)
Nero is one of my favorite dubstep artists, along with the likes of Borgore, Flux Pavilion, and Rusko.  Everything he touches is an instant classic, and this song is no different.  Great song.  Wub.

Fresh New Releases

Ladies and gents, here are a few high quality releases climbing the charts on BeatPort.  For those who aren't aware, Beatport is essentially the iTunes for electronic music, some songs are more expensive than iTunes but I am pretty sure the bitrate on nearly everything is higher on Beatport.  That being said, you all know how much love I had for Skrillex, and dude has literally had 7 out of the top 10 spots for 2 weeks running after the release of "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites".  So, I have given you my top Skrillex jam from that EP along with a few other new releases (and I mean new, shit came out like 2 days ago).  Enjoy and keep raging.

Skrillex - Rock N Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain)
Awesome track from Skrillex.  I love every song off this EP, definitely worth downloading.  It's got some dubstep sound, some house, some heavy, dirty electro on it, and even a bit of cracked out rap.

Spencer & Hill - GoGo Girl (Dirtyloud Remix)
Another artist that never dissapoints me, Spencer & Hill are unreal.  This remix just got released, I believe the original has been in circulation for a while.  This is one hard, heavy track, so prepare yourself and let it bump.

Michael Woods - Nitro
Off his freshly released "Nitro EP".  Michael Woods is fairly new to me, but when I saw the tracklisting for Deadmau5's new album and saw that one of the tracks was the "I Said (Michael Woods Remix)" I had to check him out.  This track is deep rooted in house, it is a genuine banger.  Don't miss out.

Daft Punk+Tron=Holy Santa Claus Shit

For anyone who is unaware, the upcoming movie Tron: Legacy looks unreal, and Daft Punk is doing the entire score for the movie, meaning every song you hear in the movie will be a Daft Punk original, new track.  Shit is in 3D too, dear lord.  The soundtrack drops on December 7th and will have at least 12+ original Daft Punk tracks, and while they have been producing on other people's shit for a few years now, this will be their first full length album since Alive 2007, thats right, 2007.  Here is a sick remixed cut off the soundtrack which aired with a 2 minute teaser trailer the other day, they only gave away a snippet of the song, but here it is in its entirety, "Derezzed" remixed by NTEIBINT.

So Fly

Real quick, before Thirsty Thursday official commenses, I wanna throw this remix up.  This is a solidified banger house remix of Far East Movement's "Like A G6".  Remixed by Temabes, who has been featured on Big10 a few times, this track is an absolute rage starter.  Great revamp of the song, it keeps a lot of the rhythms the same, just changing octaves or synth settings, goooooooood shit.  Enjoy.

Far East Movement - Like A G6 (Temabes Remix)
