Gettin Back on the Horse

Check out these jams, ya turkey!
First of all, I want to apologize for my recent slacking in consistency of posts.  Since coming home, I have actually been doing (semi)productive shit with my life, and have shamelessly ignored bringing you the bangers you need so very much.  Not helping the situation either is my new toy that Santa brought me, which has already caused me to lock myself in my room for hours on end and remix the shit out of the tunes that you and I have come to love.  Thanks to my boy Avemon for keeping R2R afloat with that last post despite my laziness.  Anyways, here are is a flurry of firey hot jams to keep you warm in this blizzard.  And DO NOT FORGET about R2R's epic end of the year post coming up, with the "Top 10 Most Raging Songs of 2010" complete with downloadable mixtape of all 10 as well as the individual tracks.  All entries must have been released in 2010 and, as usual, must be the most Ragin-est shit out there.  Enjoy these jams.

The Bloody Beetroots - WARP ft. Steve Aoki (Dirtyphonics Dubstep Remix)
I downloaded this one from Big10 a while ago, and dismissed it because I found the intro super annoying.  Then this shit comes on in the car today and I give it a chance.  Holy Santa Claus Shit.  This track is one of the biggest, heaviest jams I have heard in a while.  Sorry I'm so late on this one.

Cameron Adams - Definitive Daft Punk
Something like 50 Daft Punk songs condensed into one, very necessary download for all Daft Punk fans.

Mt. Eden Dubstep - Sierra Leone
Normally I like the absolutely insane, nasty, dirty, grimey dubstep, but despite it's differences, I have fallen in love with this track.  Unreal vocals and melodically brilliant, I became an instant Mt. Eden fan after hearing this.

DJ Fresh vs. Sigma - Lassitude (Dillon Francis Remix)
DJ Fresh seems to create these songs that exist in mediocrity on their own but transform into absolute bangers whenever someone gets a hold of them (see; "Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix)").  This one is no different, Dillon Francis turns this jam into overdrive and thrusts it into electro sweetness.

Massive Attack - Risingson (Bassnectar Remix)
Found this bad boy while I was dicking around with the Bassnectar app on my baller new iPhone.  Can't believe I passed over this one, thing is like 2 months old.

Bloc Party - One More Chance (Alex Metric Remix)
Bloc Party is another group who seems to get 10 times better when remixed.  Hot, electro-house fire right here, thank you Alex Metric...

Dubcember Ragin' Playlist!

Someone needs to take me to the hospital to cure me of this dubstep fever.  Dubstep is fucking awesome, but I don't want it to take over R2R, and we'll see how much it really dominates the party scene when I get back to the US of A, because it has a monopoly on it over here in England.  Anyway, to keep all you dubsteppers at bay here's what I got it.  A monster playlist for the ragin' month of "Dubcember" featuring the likes of Rusko, Bassnectar, Nero, Datsik, Flux Pavilion, Vaski, Doctor P, Zeds Dead, and other great artists to get your wub on.  This has pretty much every dubstep track I have been jamming out to for the last month or so, as well as most (if not all) the tracks I put up on R2R.  Hopefully this will tide you over for a while, expect for R2R to get back to it's roots with the electro-house we have all come to love in the next few posts.  Enjoy the playlist.

P.S. If you want nothing but dubstep, sound off!  Leave a comment, drop me an email, comment on the R2R Facebook Page, this blog might reflect the music tastes of the people posting for R2R, but it is for you!  Let us know what you wanna hear!

Oh, and just because I love you all so much, here is a full tracklist with links to download every song that hasn't already been posted on R2R.  Any song without a link you can find by clicking on the artists name on the tag cloud to the right, it shouldn't take long to find the post with the link to the corresponding song.

Best. Weekend. Ever

-
This weekend I met my rage companion Quez to go to a dubstep show at Club Fabric in the heart of London.  We had bought tickets on Bassnectar's webstie thinking it would be a mere Bassnectar show with maybe a special guest or two.  Well, we arrived at Fabric already feeling incredibly "friendly" and ready to go at about 9:30 and after 30 minutes of waiting in line we were let in.  Immediately employees began sprinting around the club stapling pieces of paper to the wall.  When we got closer we realized what we had gotten ourselves into.  The paper contained the schedule for the evenings 8 hour dubstep extravaganza, officially entitled "Beatdown 2010".

18 differents acts performed on 3 stages from 10:00-6:00 in the morning.  We compiled our list of artists to see and executed to perfection.  As we walked further and further underground (the only thing above ground level in this club is the coat check), we got to the almighty Stage 1.  We saw (in order): Mutants, Jagga, Rusko, Doctor P, and Bassnectar.  My favorite performance was Bassnectar, the guy is just insane and his light show was the best by far, his bass literally rocked the place as well.  Second was a tie between Rusko and Doctor P.  Rusko is definitely a crowd-pleaser and his music brought the party, people were going insane.  Doctor P was sick as well, his set surprised me, his shit was so heavy and the crowd was unreal during his set, the place was nuts.  Mutants and Jagga are somewhat lesser known but they were both very very good and we were able to get really close to the stage for both.  Bottom line is this is something that would never happen in America and I am so glad I got to experience this.  How was your Friday night?

Anyway, I could talk all damn day about this ridiculous show, but I'll give you what you're here for.  Some brand new music.  I haven't had a post in a couple days so I've got some real good stuff for you.

Porter Robinson - I'm On Fire (Original Mix)
Porter Robinson has been on here before, but only as a remixer.  This is a little taste of his original work, which is just as good as his remix work.  Robinson is an up and coming electro-house superstar.  Keep an eye on him.

Example - Last Ones Standing (Doctor P Remix)
Come on, there's no way I could have not put some Doctor P on here after seeing how utterly insane his live show is.  Like I said, he is one of the heaviest and grimiest dubstep artists out there, so if you like that heavy shit that bumps like it should, check this jam out.

Nadia Ali - Rapture (Avicii New Generation Mix)
Quickly climbing to the top of the Beatport charts, this jam is a genuine banger and is essential for any pregame or party that wants to achieve total ragetasticness.  Some say that Avicii is like a baby Tiesto, could be true but this track does make him one thing: seriously awesome.

Jamiroquai - Blue Skies (Flux Pavilion Remix)
I've still got the dubstep fever after that epic show.  So here's another fresh ass dubstep track to end this post off.  Totally ragin' and heavy as shit which you can expect on the reg from Flux Pavilion.  Definitely one of my favorite dubstep guys.  Everything he drops is pure fire.

So Fly

Real quick, before Thirsty Thursday official commenses, I wanna throw this remix up.  This is a solidified banger house remix of Far East Movement's "Like A G6".  Remixed by Temabes, who has been featured on Big10 a few times, this track is an absolute rage starter.  Great revamp of the song, it keeps a lot of the rhythms the same, just changing octaves or synth settings, goooooooood shit.  Enjoy.

Happy Halloween, Bitches

Got a couple scary good heavy hittin tracks for you in honor of a great holiday like Halloween.  Halloween is a great time to have one huge quality rage before it starts to get cold.  It's also a fantastic excuse for girls to dress ruthlessly slutty without any shame, thank you ladies.  Bump these tracks loud if you are celebrating tonight the right way, and if you've already had your fill of Halloween partying, get up off your ass and do some more.

Example - Kickstarts (Bar 9 Remix)
A Brit actually showed me this song, I have found them a valuable source in finding out about the newest dubstep shit that pops up over here across the pond.  This song is nice because it has a verse of rap and a verse of chilled out lyrics with an unreal wobble bass line sandwiched right in between.  Turn it up.

Dada Life - Unleash the F**king Dada
This one has been blowing up for the past few days.  All over a lot of music sites.  Sits in the Top 15 at Beatport and is gaining strength every day.  Sick Electro-House track, awesome synth tracks and there and it doesn't quit in the entire 6 minutes.

Spencer & Hill ft. Lil Jon - Less Go! (Porter Robinson Remix)
Spencer & Hill with Lil Jon, unreal.  Even though Lil Jon doesn't have a verse or anything, its still awesome to hear his voice on the track.  Spencer & Hill make it a qualified banger as usual, they don't fuck around.

One More Eleanor Rigby Dubstepper

Somehow I missed this one on my post earlier this week with the 3 Eleanor Rigby remixes.  This might actually be my favorite.  My jam at the moment along with the Borgore - Money (Cyberoptics Remix).  If you liked the other Beatles remixes I posted definitely download this one to fulfill your collection.  Word.

Time to RAGE!!!

So much goddam work in the past few days and worrying about this and that.  It's time to rage.  Night out on the town at UEA tonight for this guy.  It's time to get the party started off the right way with a couple hot bangin' tracks for you all.  First off, we got a remix of one of my favorite Daft Punk songs of all time.  Daft Punk is about to get big once again with the release of Tron: Legacy (which looks absolutely sick, check out the trailer).  They did the entire original score for the album so expect some great tunes to come out of the soundtrack.  Second, we've got one of my favorite up and coming artists remixing, well, Skrillex.  A remix of his own song, I implore you to listen to the "My Name Is Skrillex" remix, might actually be better than the original.  Third, a throwback.  Anyone who ever owned Guitar Hero 3 is familiar with Muse's "Knights of Cydonia", well guess what, there is a hot dubstep remix of it.  Epic track, this is one of the hardest dubstep tracks I have ever heard.  I'm out.

Daft Punk - Around the World (Lo n' Cho Remix)
Thank you once again to Big10HouseMafia.com.  This is an absolutely dirty remix of Around the World.  The mix with Harder, Better, Faster of this song off the Alive 2007 album is easily my favorite Daft Punk song of all time.  However the original version of "Around the World" never got my fist pumping the way I wanted it to.  Well now, Lo n' Cho have done it.  You must download this one.

Skrillex - My Name Is Skrillex (Skrillex Remix)
Skrillex is my favorite electro artist to come out in the last 6 months, for real, this guy only has one EP out but it has been on repeat on my iTunes for weeks.  Check out the full length EP and definitely download this song.  Starts off a little slow and then you get fuggin' punched right in the jugular.

Muse - Knights of Cydonia (Nostalgia Dubstep Remix)
Sick dubstep remix of an awesome song.  Muse is great on every count, and they are huge over here in the UK.  Some of the hardest hitting wobble bass I have ever heard in my days as a dubstep fan, if you love dubstep you'll love this song.

BONUS BITCHES!!!!
Tayyib Ali - Penthouse Minutes
Tayyib Ali is sick, that's all you need to know.  Great chill rap track, as are all of his songs.  Check him out on the blog by clicking on his name in the tag cloud on the top right of the blog, download everything of his I have posted.

New Spencer & Hill Afrojack Remix (and some old shit)

Spencer & Hill are fuggin' tight.  They do a lot of sick remixes and put out great original work.  The newest track on this post is a remix of Afrojack & Eva Simons' "Take Over Control".  Take Over Control is nasty as it is and has been remixed infinitely.  I think this is my favorite remix of the track along with the Ian Carey remix version.  But like I said, this isn't about Afrojack, this is about Spencer & Hill.  The single "Sunbeam" which they put out in the late summer is pretty sick as well.  Nice house track to get your fists pumpin.  The last track is a remix of Moby's "Disco Lies", very good as well.  Enjoy this shiiiiiiiit.

Afrojack - Take Over Control (Spencer & Hill Remix)
Awesome, brand new remix right here.  Give it a more House-y feel as Afrojack is mainly an Electro-House artist.  This one is unreal, good one to throw on to get the dance floor going.

Spencer & Hill - Sunbeam
Sick original jam for Spencer & Hill, a lot of sweet buildups in here.  That main riff is addicting, can't get it outta my head.  Download this one for sure.

Moby - Disco Lies (Spencer & Hill Remix)
Not a huge Moby fan, but this remix is killer, believe me.  Whatever the song sounded like before Spencer & Hill remixed it, I don't care because this track is a certified banger.  Another one to get the dance floor crazy.  Google Spencer & Hill and download more sweet shit by them!

"Eleanor Rigby" Dubstep/Electro Remixes

I have been working on adapting scenes from Christopher Buckley's "Thank You For Smoking" into brief screenplays for my screenwriting class for the past few hours (yeah, I know it's already a movie, that's what I fucking told my Professor) and have found myself trapped listening to nothing but the Beatles for the entirety of it.  I was curious if anyone ever remixed any of the Beatles classic tunes and this is what I found.  Eleanor Rigby (one of my favorite Beatles songs I might add) has a few great dubstep mixes and one sweet electro remix that I found.  As is the case with the original song, these are some real chilled out tunes, they don't really bang incredibly hard but that's not what I was looking for, they are all just genuinely good tracks. Alright, back to work.  Peace

The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby (ITAR Dubstep Mix)
This is, in my opinion, the best of all 3 remixes.  Doesn't get too hectic and sticks to the original song pretty good while working in the wobble bass at key moments.  Best drum track out of all 3 as well.

The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby (MXWL Dubstep Remix)
The other dubstep remix I have for you.  Uses the strings from the original track wonderfully and layers the shit out of the various parts of the original song, pretty great stuff.  Let it wobble.

The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby (Thoko Remix)
Electro remix this time.  If you were to consider any of these a banger it would be this one.  Has a nice electro feel to it, good synth track in the background.  Strays pretty far from the original though, it only really uses one line in the whole song over and over, but a fair amount of electro songs tend to do that, so I'm cool with it.

Let There Be Light

If you really knew me, you would know that Rank 1's "L.E.D. There Be Light" is by far one of my favorite House songs of all time, hell, one of my favorite songs of any genre.  You think this thing is over around the 4 minute mark and then it absolutely bombards you with some House greatness.  Well how do you make the best better? RE-MIXXXXX!!! For this Saturday night I have two remixes of "L.E.D. There Be Light" for you.  Both are sick and bump real hard.  The first one is from Cold Blank and has a very Electro feel to it, cuts up the original a lot and rearranges the samples for some pretty great stuff.  The second is more of a House remix and stays more true to the original track, courtesy of Marcel Woods.  Of course I have included the original for you to jam out to as well.  Enjoy all 3.

Rank 1 - L.E.D. There Be Light (Cold Blank Remix)

Rank 1 - L.E.D. There Be Light (Marcel Woods Remix)

Rank 1 - L.E.D. There Be Light (Original Mix)
The original, still legendary.

O Let Do It!

WAKA FLOCKA FLOCKA!  "Oh Lets Do It" was my guilty pleasure song of the summer.  How can you not crack up at Waka's opening line: "I fucked my money up!  Now I can't re-up!".  People either love or hate Waka Flocka, but either way you will love this remix.  Remixed by Heroes and Villains (they have some other pretty sick remixes), this one has a thumpin bass and a dope synth background.  I have included a few more legendary and hilarious Waka Flocka tracks for your listening pleasure.  The other remix is sick and features Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.  The third track is a Travis Barker remix (I am sure you all heard his Soulja Boy remix, its the tits) of "Hard in the Paint", another one of Waka Flocka's songs I genuinely enjoy.  Shout to Big Rob.  BRICK SQUAD!!!

WOMPWOMPWOMP

In the brief time that I have been a fan of dubstep there have only been a few artists that have stood out in my mind, Nero being one of them.  Their shit is on iTunes, and it's out there in the interwebs if you look in the right places.  Sick dubstep artist, their remixes are dank but his original shit is awesome too.  They released a new song very recently which I snagged courtesy of www.dubstepcollective.com.  Remix of Plan B's "The Recluse", awesome dub as usual from these guys.  Click to download below along with a few of their other great jams.

Plan B - The Recluse (Nero Dubstep Remix)
Not the hardest dubstep in the world, but the strings mixed in with Nero's electronic bassline and diesel dubstep tricks provide for a sick tune.

Nero - Innocence
The first Nero song I ever heard, so sick.  Builds up almost like a house track and then body slams you with the dubstep beats.  Recommended download for sure.

Deadmau5 - Ghosts N Stuff (Nero Remix)
The best remix of one of the best songs ever.  Ghosts N Stuff was the song that turned me on to electronic music and this remix was the one that made me appreciate dubstep.  Dirty.

Some "Chrispy" Tracks

I can't believe I have never heard of this guy!  Most of these songs were released earlier this year, but they are new to me.  My recent obsession with dubstep has put me on an infinite search for the hardest, bassiest, bumpinest dubstep out there, and Chrispy is up there.  He does some cool instrumental covers like "Requiem for A Dream" and "Inspector Gadget", but the money is in the remixes.  He puts a dubstep twist on these 3 Rihanna, Ke$ha, and La Roux songs.  Throw em on at your Saturday night rager.

Rihanna - Rude Boy (Chrispy Dubstep Remix)

Ke$ha - Tik Tok (Chrispy Dubstep Remix)

La Roux - Bulletproof (Chrispy Dubstep Remix)

Revitalize, Reenergize, Re-MIX...

Good morning from the UK, awoke 10 minutes ago after a night of pubs and campus club to an onslaught of classic, shitty England rain.  While you recooperate and reload for your Saturday night, ill leave you with 2 remixes that are sure to get the party started.

Sam Adams - Some Chords (Deadmau5 Remix)
Being that he's from Boston, Sam Adams had to make an appearance here.  I am not a big fan of his more poppy songs, but his recent mixtape shit has been good as hell.  His flow on this song is actually admirable and he makes it work as a banger.  Here he is going in hard with a cut off Deadmau5's "Some Chords"in the background.  Highly suggested download.

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (Borgore Dubstep Remix)
Borgore is fucking fantastic.  Everything he touches turns to dubstep gold.  Another song that was one of my favorites before anyone ever got their hands on to remix, Sleepyhead stands great by itself but the dubstep twist thrusts it over the edge into musical insanity.  Enjoy.
