Epic Thank You

Ready2Rage started out in late September with one goal: scour the earth for the most bangin' music and deliver it in a simple manner to devoted ragers across college campuses and beyond.  86 posts, 97 days, 3 authors later and on the cusp of a new year we have hit 10,000 pageviews.  Awesome.  It's hard to say where exactly R2R is heading but one thing is for sure, if you guys keep this up, expansion is imminent.   Thank you all, and keep on raging.  Keep spreadin' the word about R2R, and before I hit you all with our MASSIVE end of the year post tomorrow, here are a few tracks that just barely got cut from the R2R Top 10 of 2010...

Doctor P - Big Boss
The biggest track from one of the biggest up and coming stars of dubstep.  Seeing this live absolutely blew my mind.  In the end it was tough to cut the Doctor from the Top 10 list, but some people just deserved it more.

Boys Noize & Erol Alkan - Avalanche (Original Mix)
I have said it countless times, this song is epic and all of the Boys Noize/Erol Alkan collaborative releases are great, but they just weren't big enough to crack the Top 10.  Works for me though.

Pretty Lights - Hot Like Dimes
Huge year for Pretty Lights, 3 great EPs and that unreleased business "Defocused on the Bright Diamonds".  Arguably best live show out there as well.  It was impossible to include them in the Top 10 because no one song specifically rages hard enough to be excluded from the others.  "Hot Like Dimes" is the best I could do.

Gettin Back on the Horse

Check out these jams, ya turkey!
First of all, I want to apologize for my recent slacking in consistency of posts.  Since coming home, I have actually been doing (semi)productive shit with my life, and have shamelessly ignored bringing you the bangers you need so very much.  Not helping the situation either is my new toy that Santa brought me, which has already caused me to lock myself in my room for hours on end and remix the shit out of the tunes that you and I have come to love.  Thanks to my boy Avemon for keeping R2R afloat with that last post despite my laziness.  Anyways, here are is a flurry of firey hot jams to keep you warm in this blizzard.  And DO NOT FORGET about R2R's epic end of the year post coming up, with the "Top 10 Most Raging Songs of 2010" complete with downloadable mixtape of all 10 as well as the individual tracks.  All entries must have been released in 2010 and, as usual, must be the most Ragin-est shit out there.  Enjoy these jams.

The Bloody Beetroots - WARP ft. Steve Aoki (Dirtyphonics Dubstep Remix)
I downloaded this one from Big10 a while ago, and dismissed it because I found the intro super annoying.  Then this shit comes on in the car today and I give it a chance.  Holy Santa Claus Shit.  This track is one of the biggest, heaviest jams I have heard in a while.  Sorry I'm so late on this one.

Cameron Adams - Definitive Daft Punk
Something like 50 Daft Punk songs condensed into one, very necessary download for all Daft Punk fans.

Mt. Eden Dubstep - Sierra Leone
Normally I like the absolutely insane, nasty, dirty, grimey dubstep, but despite it's differences, I have fallen in love with this track.  Unreal vocals and melodically brilliant, I became an instant Mt. Eden fan after hearing this.

DJ Fresh vs. Sigma - Lassitude (Dillon Francis Remix)
DJ Fresh seems to create these songs that exist in mediocrity on their own but transform into absolute bangers whenever someone gets a hold of them (see; "Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix)").  This one is no different, Dillon Francis turns this jam into overdrive and thrusts it into electro sweetness.

Massive Attack - Risingson (Bassnectar Remix)
Found this bad boy while I was dicking around with the Bassnectar app on my baller new iPhone.  Can't believe I passed over this one, thing is like 2 months old.

Bloc Party - One More Chance (Alex Metric Remix)
Bloc Party is another group who seems to get 10 times better when remixed.  Hot, electro-house fire right here, thank you Alex Metric...

New Winter Dubstep

Looks like the drop in the temp has cooled off a lot of new dubtracks as well giving us some smooth relaxed drum & bass jams that I got to admit i'm lovin. Could this be the direction of dubstep? is this a good or bad thing? you judge

my favorite so far

No idea what their saying, but great song

on second thought, I think the brain poison will continue

TO HOT, these guys are in it to win it. Turn the bass up!!
(couldnt find fileshare download using url on listentoyoutube.com)

in case anyone hasn't fully appreciated this song it is a must in the dubstep library. Bassnectar & Datsik are good buddies that decided to team up on this to create a song that truly delivered into the scene... I'll skank to that

Merry Christmas with some jingle

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Home at last in the US just in time for some Christmas awesomeness.  Great to be home.  Figure I'd drop a few fresh bangers down the tree for the masses here.  A few new releases from dank house artists, and a sneaky little dubstep track, all of which will leave you ready 2 rage.  EPIC end of the year post coming up with R2R's Top 10 Ragetastic Songs of the Year.  Mixtape and free downloads shall be included as usual.  Stay warm tonight and give that fat bastard some milk and cookies.  I'm out.

Moguai - We Want Your Soul (Original Mix)
Fresh off Beatport, Moguai is doing work lately.  He was signed to Deadmau5's label but it looks like he's getting bigger and branching out more, this song is from Size Records.  Absolutely bangtastic.

Moguai - We Want Your Soul (Thomas Gold Remix)
Thomas Gold remix of the aforementioned track, crazy progressive shit right here.  Thomas Gold had another Beatport "AGORa" a month of so ago, definitely worth checking out.  This shit buuuuumps.

Micha Moor - Break My World
Certified club anthem right here.  Makes you wanna move dem feets.

Bare - Banshee (Original Mix)
Chills down my spine.  Bare is pretty sick, they are glitchy and dirty as fuck which I personally love.  If you like that grimey, dirty, nasty shit like I do, download this track.

Nothin' But the Dankness...

Haven't had a whole lot to do the past few days except drink hard and jam hard in London.  My quest for new tunes has produced a couple gems, you can check 'em out below.  Hopefully I get off this godforsaken island tomorrow, flight is scheduled at 4pm but who the hell knows.  Expect an epic end of the year post and playlist with the top 10 most raging songs of the year in the coming days as well.

Talay Riley - Sergeant Smash (Roksonix Remix)
Dubby shiiiiittt, solid dubstep track, great name too.  I aspire to one day be known as "Sergeant Smash".

Dmitry KO, smashBOX, & Starkillers - Odessa (Big Room Remix)
Epic progressive house track right here.  Absolutely killer leads throughout the entire song with some serious build ups and mind blowing drops.  A must for the prog fans.

Moguai - Get Fresh (Original Mix)
Moguai is on the mau5trap label so you know he's legit.  Tight electro-house track with a massive drop at 4:33.

Everything But the Girl - Missing (Fedde Le Grand Remix)
Fedde has been busy lately, with this single landing a spot in the Beatport top 10 almost instantly and his remix of his own track "Back and Forth" being absolute fire.  Another really awesome progressive track.

House Music Saved My Life

Stranded in London until Wednesday (I have been absolutely pumping dubstep and electro-house into my brain for 72 hours now), but how bad is that really?  Myself and 2 bros are posted in a hotel in Leicester Square ready to take the city by storm for the next 2 days.  In the meantine, my boy "Class Act" doing his thing out in NY sent me this little nugget.  "Avalanche" is literally top 3 favorite jams all time for me, I listen to it probably at least once a day to be honest.  This remix just melted my face off.  Enjoy.

Boys Noize & Erol Alkan - Avalanche (Religion Remix)
Dope remix, haaaard electro.

Boys Noize & Erol Alkan - Avalanche (Original Mix)
The original.  Flawless, one of the best songs ever.

Airport Chillin'

Right now, I am stuck in the godforsaken Heathrow airport after my flight back to the glorious USA was cancelled due to less than 6 inches of snow.  It's 3:20 AM and I am waiting for the lines to open so I can try to get another ticket home, god my life gets more miserable every day.  Anyway, the only thing to do in a time like this is sack up, pay the 15 dollars to get wi-fi, and bring you all some fresh new bangers.  Enjoy.

Skrillex - Sexual Seduction Remix (ft. Snoop Dogg & T-Pain)
The absolute best of both worlds right here.  Bangin track with Snoop and T-Pain in the background.  If you like to rage and you don't rock out to this, there is something seriously wrong with you.

Vaski - Spaceman
WUBADUBDUB sonnnnnnn!  If you are familiar with Vaski, I don't need to say any more.  If you're not, download this track and get a taste, you'll be hungry for more.

Deadmau5 ft. Neon Hitch - I Can't Behave Myself
Since it's a new Deadmau5 track, I have an obligation to share it with you all.  But, to be honest, I am not a huge fan of this track.  More mainstream Deadmau5 than I have ever heard, definitely female friendly though.  The ladies should love this one.

Pryda - Illusions
Under the alias "Pryda", Eric Prydz just released two new tracks, this bad boy and "Glimma".  I like this one personally, really chilled out progressive house and then the end is just pure dankness.

Friday 17 December 2010

I'm Out

It's been real England.  Touchin down at 7:05 in Dirty Jerz on Saturday, brace yourselves.  Here's some sweet music I will pump into my brain during the 8 hour flight.

Lil Wayne - 6' 7'
Wayne is back, word.

5 & A Dime - Hide Ya Kids, Hide Ya Dubstep
Solid mashup, the Bassnectar track that the whole thing builds from is a classic.  This sounds like a Girl Talk song, if Girl Talk was still any good.

Lazy Rich - Discofukkr (Lucky Date Remix)
Lucky Date is a freak, he is gonna blow up big next year.

Yolana Be Cool & DCUP - We No Speak Americano (SAVOY Remix)
I used to hate this fucking song, SAVOY comes in and makes it into a legitimate, tolerable banger.  Has definitely grown on me.

Best of: Deadmau5 (Mixtape)

And the winner of the poll for "Live Show of 2010" is Deadmau5!  Rightly so, his live shows are quite the experience n stuff, might even be the best one out right this moment.  As promised, here is a 16 track mixtape of all the essential Deadmau5 tunes.  This will be our first in a series of "Best of" mixtapes for artists we see fit.  The songs on here come from all of the studio albums and a few other EPs and remixes here and there.  If you like Deadmau5 and the genre of house music as a whole, I encourage you to download the mixtape.  I also have a sweet new Skrillex jam if you haven't heard it already, it's called "Cat Rats", pretty good stuff too.  Word.

R2R Presents: The Essential Mau5tape

Skrillex - Cat Rats (Original Mix)

Tuesday 14 December 2010

Indie Dance/Nu Disco

I was exploring Beatport the other day and saw on the Top 100 that Martin Solveig's "Hello" as well as A-trak's "Indestructable" remix (2 seriously awesome favorites of mine) were classified under the "Indie Dance/Nu Disco" genre.  I checked out the charts for the genre and there are a few other sweet songs on there.  I still don't fully understand what this genre means, but it pumps out some pretty awesome, danceable songs.  Here are 2 of the best.

Mariam, Amadou - Sabali (Vitalic Remix)
If you own Nas & Damian Marley's "Distant Relatives" album, you'll recognize the sample.  Solid, upbeat jam with some crazy jungle-y effects in the background.  This one is super sweet.

Valerna - I Wish I Had Dog Feet
This one has a real serious electro feel to it.  Has some really trippy breakdowns.

Space Junk

Snippet of a cut off Wolfgang Gartner's next single, following up "Illmerica" & "Animal Rights".  This piece is called Space Junk.  Honestly, I think it's about time Wolfgang came out with an album already.  I read somewhere that he spent like 300 hours making "Illmerica".  Bro, that's absurd.  Give us an album.

Wolfgang Gartner - Space Junk PREVIEW

Nero Essential Mix

I know I'm pretty late on this one but I have been jamming out hard to it for the past week or so.  It's pretty hard to have the patience to sit down and listen to a 2 hour set, but with Nero's (and Wolfgang Gartner's) essential mix it's thoroughly enjoyable, especially at a small pregame or something.  Covers a bunch of genres: dubstep, house, drum and bass.  Here it is, Nero's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix...

Home Stretch

6 DAYS
Damn, just under one week left for in merry old England for me.  I hope everyone's end of the semester is going alright despite the plethora of tests and papers you all are surely scrapping to finish right now.  The UK has been real good to me, enlightening me in the past 3 months in the wonderful world of dubstep and making going to a club no longer a ridiculous and expensive notion.  As things wind down for everyone and we prepare for the winter break and everything that comes with it (New Year's ragers, getting the old crew back together, the Celtics and Patriots running train on every other sports organization in the country, etc.) we have a few upcoming gifts just in time for Christmas here at R2R.  1. We're in the early stages of putting a digital mixtape or two together for the holiday season with a couple other noteworthy blogs.  2. Once that little poll to the right of here finishes up, I will put together a "Best Of" collection for whichever artist comes out on top and release it as an R2R compilaton for our loyal community of rage-seekers.  3.  Fresh New Tunes every post as expected, lets get down to business...

Circus Records, you have done it again.  Great dubstep track with potential to be an epic rap beat.  Someone rap over this shit, please!

I haven't posted a legit, hood-ass, speaker thumpin' rap track in a while.  So here's one, a mixtape cut that comes right after the release of T.I.'s most recent studio album "No Mercy".  Great heavy southern beat with the super sweet rhymes of T.I. and company.

This song was the song of the summer, so why not upgrade it to electro-house banger status?  DJ Kue has remixed many mainstream artists (Kanye, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Lil Jon) radio singles into genuine bangers on every front.  Check out his Remix of Ke$ha's "Take it Off", which I posted as part of the first ever R2R post.

So, this track I picked up as a free download off Rusko's web site when I bought a t-shirt and thought I would share it with you all.  Not a bad deal, pretty standard dubstep remix of "California Love", worth a download.

Bangin' song right here.  Crystal Method is a serious throwback, these guys were around in the 90s.  Good looks on the part of ATLAS, whose remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Maps" is also a keeper.

Saturday 11 December 2010

Ragin' Mash-Up

I'm not a huge mash-up guy, I like Super Mash Bros. and a few other acts when it comes to the genre.  But here I have a genuine banger mash-up featuring Bassnectar and the California Swag District of "Dougie" fame.  Some bro named Mister Gray mashed up "Basshead" and "Teach Me How To Dougie".  Pretty dope, check it out.

I Can Give Ya House!!!

Time to get back to the roots, what got me started in my love for electronic music was electro-house (more specifically "Ghosts N Stuff", after that it's all history).  What I got for ya today is a couple genuine electro-house bangers just like mom used to make, as well as a chill rap track and a peek into the world of English "grime".  If you're still fiending for some dubstep, you can check out the "Dubcember Ragin' Playlist" by scrolling down or clicking here.  Because, like the D-Devil says, I can give ya sex, I can give ya drugs, and I most certainly can give ya....HOUSE!!!!
""
Freefire - Dataloss (Darth & Vader Remix)
I'm sorry the link sucks, but this song is awesome.  Caught my eye on Beatport today so I went and found a leak download.  Reminds me of early Wolfgang Gartner with wacky pitch bends and crazy samples being tossed at you a million miles per hour.  Fuego.

Egonoise - Dirty Downtown Anthem
Heavy ass electro-house banger with some hilarious (and "dirty") samples.  Caught this track on GottaDanceDirty the other day, definitely worth downloading, this shit bumps.

New Tera - Rubadubstep and Bass
This one is a snippet courtesy of a friend's friend at UEA who is working on an upcoming dubstep/grime/drum and bass EP.  If there is one thing I have learned from being here, it's that the English like their electronic music duuuuurty, and this is about as dirty as it comes.  Have a look around New Tera's youtube page as well, he has some other tight beats.

Grynch ft. Sol - All I Wanna Do
Really chilled out hip hop tune right here.  Every once in a while it's important to take a step back from the womps and the wubs and electro madness and relax to a good chill rap song or acoustic jam.  Having an eclectic music collection will make you a better person, so be a better person and download this tune.

New Pretty Lights album

""
Our friends over at PB&J threw a link up to their site this morning saying they had an exclusive new Pretty Lights album completely out of nowhere!  Of course, I downloaded the album and it's pretty legit.  It seems like the album itself, however, is just a compilation of unreleased material from shows and Derek Vincent Smith's fucking about in the beat laboratory (some tracks are live, some aren't, one song is 1:22 and another one is 15 minutes long).  Of course, the fact that it isn't new material doesn't take away from the fact that it is some great unreleased stuff that Pretty Lights never officially put on an EP or full length album.  The album, "Defocused on the Bright Diamonds", is solid all around, so heres the link for the entire album.  I have also included the links for a few of my favorite songs if you don't want to bother downloading all 24 tracks, enjoy.

1. Retaliation

5. Can't Stop Me Now Remix

9. Regulators

12. Textured Heart

16. Bump N Hustle

19. Sonic Bloom

24. Feels So Good

Dubcember Ragin' Playlist!

Someone needs to take me to the hospital to cure me of this dubstep fever.  Dubstep is fucking awesome, but I don't want it to take over R2R, and we'll see how much it really dominates the party scene when I get back to the US of A, because it has a monopoly on it over here in England.  Anyway, to keep all you dubsteppers at bay here's what I got it.  A monster playlist for the ragin' month of "Dubcember" featuring the likes of Rusko, Bassnectar, Nero, Datsik, Flux Pavilion, Vaski, Doctor P, Zeds Dead, and other great artists to get your wub on.  This has pretty much every dubstep track I have been jamming out to for the last month or so, as well as most (if not all) the tracks I put up on R2R.  Hopefully this will tide you over for a while, expect for R2R to get back to it's roots with the electro-house we have all come to love in the next few posts.  Enjoy the playlist.

P.S. If you want nothing but dubstep, sound off!  Leave a comment, drop me an email, comment on the R2R Facebook Page, this blog might reflect the music tastes of the people posting for R2R, but it is for you!  Let us know what you wanna hear!

Oh, and just because I love you all so much, here is a full tracklist with links to download every song that hasn't already been posted on R2R.  Any song without a link you can find by clicking on the artists name on the tag cloud to the right, it shouldn't take long to find the post with the link to the corresponding song.

2. Justice - Stress (Nero Remix)

Linkage Galore...and Fresh New Jams (of course)

What up, what up.  A few things to address at R2R today on top of fresh beats.  Ready2Rage has hooked up with fellow dank blog-extraordinairre Pnutbutterjams.com (or PB&J) to present their first ever "Dubstep Wompday".  Be sure to visit them every Wednesday for the most ragin' dubstep of that week, and be doubly sure to check 'em out today to give R2R and PB&J some love on this rare occasion.  Cross that off the list...

Second, I am sure you all remember J-Crew (aka Class Act), a Boston native spinning the dirtiest of electro and wompiest of dubstep out in the Long Island area.  Mr. Crew has now hooked up with a fellow master of the mixers to form Recreational Chemistry.  Anyways these guys are dank and I have an exclusive setrip from their last show out on Strong Island.  Here it is... Recreational Chemistry - Zombie Set 12/4.

Also, check out and Like the R2R facebook page and tell your friends on RealLifebook that we are awesome.

Last, but not least, the Daft Punk Tron Soundtrack is officially out on iTunes or wherever you buy your music.  This shit is epic as fuck, but not epic like "I can't move my neck from raging so hard on the dance floor last night" epic, I mean like Jerry Bruckheimer, explosions, Tron 3D epic.  Apparently they had a symphony of 100+ musicians working on this thing, as they assumed the position of conductor(s).  The result is an amazing soundtrack that will surely add to the experience of the movie, but bottom line is you only get 2 true bangers on there: "TRON Legacy (End Titles)" and the previously released "Derezzed".  This is great stuff, but don't expect anyone to drop "Adagio for TRON" at a house party anytime soon.

And here is what you have all been waiting for, ze jams...

Justice - Stress (Nero Remix)
Oh god, Nero and Justice, does it get any better?  This one is a fuggin' head bumper fa sho.  Forboding horns with some good old fashioned electronic madness creeping in.  Thanks again to PB&J for this one.

B.o.B - No Genre (Mixtape)
I'm not going to put a track up for this simply because I can't decide which one to put.  Literally, every song on this mixtape is good to some level.  No Genre may actually be better than The Adventures of Bobby Ray (B.o.B's grammy nomicated debut album).  If you like music, get this mixtape.

Lucky Date - Grind On Me (Original Mix)
A frat bro of mine at the Dick told me about Lucky Date.  LD likes his electro dirty as hell with heavy drums in the background, and this song was made for the dancefloor (I mean come on, its called "Grind On Me").  This bad mofo is only 19 too, can't wait to see his career take off.

J. Rabitt, Tremourz - Tongue Tied (Original Mix)
Couldn't let ya go without some dubstep.  Part 2 of J. Rabitt & Tremourz "Sexy Party" single.  Sexy Party is a great song too, check it out.  Adios.

Not In Our House

Let's send Mark Sanchez home crying tonight.  The game starts at 1:30 and runs til 4:30 in the morn over here in lovely old England so I got the proper sleep (woke up at 7:00pm) and some new jams to get me in the right mindset before the game.  I feel bad for everyone on my floor who is trying to get a full nights sleep tonight.  Here are a few tasty snacks (not the Rex Ryan kind) to chew on before the game...

Potomac Boys Club - Lights! (Potomac Boys Rework) (Ellie, Waka, Wale)
Everybody and their grandma is talking about this jam, and for good reason.  Brenton Duvall, of Gucci Mane Remix fame is a member of these Potomac Boys, a couple of college bros who make dank music.  This song is super chill but has enough electronic kick to make it a party track, plus it's got Ellie Goulding, Waka Flocka, and Wale.

Shenai - Blame (Yves LaRock Edit)
Usually in an electro song you can identify the "main riff" of the thing, in this jam there is no way.  This jam is constantly changing the rhythm of the lead and they all are funky and ragetastic.  If you like electro-house music grab this one.

Mustard Pimp - Scissors
Mustard Pimp is great hard-electro, they know how to do it.  This track is hard as hell and will bring the house down through big speakers.  I already posted another jam of Mustard Pimp's doing, "Paper" on here (on the first post ever as a matter of fact); both songs are off their "Rocks/Paper/Scissors" EP (you can guess what the third jam is called).

"Zeds Dead Baby"

2 weeks left over here in the UK and my arsenal of dubstep tunes continues to stockpile.  Not a ton of new music over the past few days so I felt I would do a little special on one of my favorite current artists.  Borrowing their name from a classic line in "Pulp Fiction", Zeds Dead is made of 2 bros that hail from Ontario, Canada.  Like another famous Canadian in the electronic music industry (his name rhymes with Bedhau5), these guys took their genre and tweaked it to set themselves apart while at the same time innovating the genre as a whole.  Their tunes are a lot more melodic than most dubstep and employ a lot more vocal samples throughout their songs (some even have lyrics!).  Anyways, they have blown up over the past year and here I have some of their best jams (in my opinion) for you with a brief reasoning of why each one is so dank, enjoy and if you know any more good Zeds Dead tunes, tell me!  Send me an email or comment on this post.

P.S. DON'T FORGET TO VOTE ON THE POLL to the right, I will do a super mega ultra amazing lengthy post with a dickload of tunes for the winner when the voting period is over.

Zeds Dead - White Satin
First Zeds Dead song I heard, had me hooked right away.  Killer vocal sample and very melodic, upbeat tune.  If there is ever such thing as a "feel-good" dubstep song, this is it.

Zeds Dead - Dark Side Dub
I have been waiting for a song to use some Star Wars samples, and Zeds Dead executed it to perfection in this jam.  THE POWAAAA!

Dragonette - Volcano (Zeds Dead Remix)
The great female vocals of Dragonette meet the wub-your-face-off beats of Zeds Dead.  Match made in heaven.  There's even a little bit of the 4 to the floor trademark house music drum beat in there.

Zeds Dead - Out for Blood (ft. Omar Linx)
That's right, this song actually has verses in it (and damn good ones too!), which makes this song not only wubtastic and bangin' but catchy as shit and something you can actually sing along with.  I'm telling you this is the future of hip hop music, every artist out there is going to want to rap over dubstep beats in the near future.  You just watch...

Big Thangs

Currently, R2R is working on doing some collaboration with a few other dedicated ragin' music blogs that can be found further down on the right hand side of the blog in the link section labeled "Other Great Music Blogs, etc." (all worth checking out, a handful of jams you see on R2R are snagged from one or more of these guys).  I will keep you posted as things develop.  Sharing music interests and exposing unheard of bangin' gems to the world is something we strive to do, so it was only a matter of time before the love started spreading around.  R2R humbly received a shout from our friends over at PB&J yesterday as well, definitely check them out if you get a chance.  But now, for the tunes...

Spencer & Hill - Dub Disco (Lucky Date Remix)
Absolute banger right here, one of the best songs I've heard in weeks.  Spencer & Hill are becoming a household name as they seem to crank out epic jam after epic jam.  Props to Lucky Date for the remix, this one's got a drop you'll never see coming at the 4:04 mark.

Andy Caldwell ft. Gram'ma Funk - Funk Nasty (Wolfgang Gartner Remix)
Some grammy nominated Wolfgang Gartner work, awesome to see the electro-house getting some love at something as prestigous as the Grammy Awards.  I don't think I need to say more, this is one of the best remixes of the year, and come on, it's Wolfgang.

Funkagenda, Sultan, & Ned Shepard - Past Dreaming (Club Mix)
Flip the script and give y'all some traditional progressive house right meow.  I prefer the electro stuff because it's heavier and tends to drop harder, it usually has way more layering of tracks too.  I feel like sometimes I'll listen to a progressive song for 8 minutes and still ask myself "whens it gonna drop?"  Not this jam, great track from these 3 that goes up and down and all around.

A Few Gifts From Hannukah Harry

Holy Santa Claus shit, it's already December.  For all my fellow Jew-bears and bearettes, Harry Hannukah comes to town tomorrow, so I thought I'd play Harry (or Santa) and drop a few bangin tunes down your chimneys to start the month off right.  These are white-hot remixes with one original mix, so be prepared.  Be sure to play these all turned up as loud as your speakers can go, these...are certified bangers and wubmonsters.  P.S. Bassnectar - Boombox (Datsik Remix)
As if this song could get any better.  It's been remixed countless times and this is the best.  If you haven't heard of him, Datsik is definitely one of the best dubstep artists out there not signed with the penultimate Circus Records (and who isn't named Borgore, Vaski, Statelapse, or Nero).  This remix sends the original material completely into overdrive, with hard hitting super distorted wobbly-as-shit bass lines that will leave you feeling the sikness.

WTF?! & Dead Prez - It's Bigger Than Hip Hop (Sidney Samson Remix)
I included the original version of this jam on the November Rewind Playlist.  This version may be superior.  Essentially it's the same track just with a Sidney Samson trademark house intro and outro.  Very good stuff, dubstep/house/electro, it's all in there.

Chuckie, Gregori Klosman - Mutfakta (Original Mix)
Easing it's way into the Beatport Top 10 of the "Electro-House" genre, this track can only climb higher.  Great build ups, great drops, awesome synth leads and a flurry of electronic greatness that we strive to give you at Ready2Rage.  I have no idea what a "Mutfakta" is, but it certainly is awesome.

November Rewind Playlist

Alright, I'm trying to branch out and do some experimenting with some new stuff for the blog.  Here we've got something I want to start doing regularly, a monthly rewind playlist.  This bad boy has 20 of the best tracks from the last month (most if not all available for free download on the blog).  Everything from face melters to house bangers to chill rap to Johnny Cash (that song is bomb).  If you hear something you like, just click on the artist's name in the cloud on the right hand side of the blog and it should be easy to find the link for the song from there.  Enjoy, and let me know if you would have any additions or subtractions from the playlist.

Leftovers

3 weeks left over here in the UK, and then its back on some home soil.  Semester flew by.  And to make things even more crack it snowed yesterday, the earliest the UK has ever seen snow.  Here are some leftover (but still firey hot) jams from this week.  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  Keep ragin.

Deadmau5 - Cthulhu Sleeps (Original Mix)
This song leaked (along with the rest of the album "4x4=12") this week and I gotta say, the album is good. It's true that it is a lot of stuff that he put in his live show this past year, but he touched everything up and perfected it for the album.  This is one of my favorite tracks on the new joint, but there are a handful of other good ones; Some Chords, Raise Your Weapon, & Right This Second to name a few.

Professor Green feat. Lily Allen - Just Be Good to Me (Joker Remix)
Pretty unique jam right here, Professor Green is a young rapper from the UK who is pretty popular around here.  He collaborates with dubstep artists frequently.  This re-work of his song "Just Be Good to Green" has a dubstep flow throughout it but has enough mix of vocals and instrumental to make it still fairly hip-hop.  Good stuff overall.  Must download.

T.I. - Welcome to the World (feat. Kanye West & Kid Cudi)
The star power on this track is enough to make it worth a listen.  Three of the best in the game crank out a single to T.I.'s new album "No Mercy", which will be released on December 7th.  Awesome song.

Banger Alert!

After hearing this song my banger alert is going off like crazy.  When Benassi puts out a jam, he makes it count.  "House Music" just dropped and it's just an all around great electro house track.  Deep bass as usual from Benny, and face melting drops and synth madness.  There is even already a sweet remix of this song by Autoerotique, and it's been out for less than a month.  Dear lord.  This track is a keeper.

Benny Benassi - House Music (Original Mix)

Dutched Out

Amsterdam is quite the city, I have to say.  Spent a beautiful weekend enjoying the various luxuries that the city has to offer.  Pretty burnt out after a day of traveling today (I woke up in Amsterdam at 7 and was in London by 10:30), but heres some sweet new house and dubstep.  I heard some money Dutch House while I was over there.  For those who aren't aware...Afrojack is probably the biggest name in Dutch House and is really bringing the subgenre to the general "House" populus.  The beats rely on heavy bass drums and really high pitched synth riffs that sound almost like sirens.  Gets the job done for me, here are the tunes.  Some good dubstep in there too for good measure.

Deviance - Fellatio (Alvaro Remix)
Like I said, heavy track with really high pitched main electronic riffs in there.  Pretty good, funny vocal sample too, always good to see.

Gianni Marino - Move & Break (Original Mix)
I bet there are a lot of people out there who have heard this song without realizing they were hearing it.  Has been remixed by a lot of people but the original is legendary.  Another classic Dutch jam.

TV Rock - Son of 91 (Afrojack 2010 Remix)
Afrojack is the king of the Dutch House scene, so he had to make an appearance.  The original jam lends some great vocals and a great piano riff, but Afrojack sends it into overdrive with some serious drops.  One of the first Afrojack songs I ever heard.

Statelapse - Hurt You (ft. KP)
Dubstep jam right here, 2 dudes "Statelapse" from Northern UK.  Really, really heavy shit.  Vocals on this track are unreal, these guys throw in so much crazy, distorted shit on all their songs, I love it.  Check out their other stuff too, "Trash Talk" is another great song of theirs.

The Good Life

My two week mini-vacation from all things academic continues this weekend with a 3 day trip to Amsterdam to meet up with one of my good buddies.  While we will not be attending any crazy house or dubstep shows this weekend, we will surely be having equally ludicrous adventures.  Cannibus cup, dreams do come true...  Last post of the week for me, can't let anything like a computer distract me from the wonders of Amsterdam.  I will leave you with some fresh tunes though before I go, a little more hip-hop than usual here.

Chris Lake - Sleepwalker (Original Mix)
Chris Lake is yet another up and coming artist on the mau5trap label.  Bangin' house track that sounds like the mau5 himself may have had a hand in this production.  Sure to climb the beatport charts quickly.

Dr Dre - Kush (ft. Snoop Dogg, Akon)
Dr Dre?!?!?! DETOX!?!?!? For REAL!!?!?! Supposedly, this is the first official single from "Detox", but I'll believe it when I see it.  This album has supposed to have come out like every month for the last year.  Just drop the fucking album already, Dre.

Birdman & Lil Warne - Fire Flame (Remix)
Wayne is goin to work, I'm telling you, the Carter IV will be so much better than Carter III.  If he keeps this up it's a guarantee.

Best. Weekend. Ever

-
This weekend I met my rage companion Quez to go to a dubstep show at Club Fabric in the heart of London.  We had bought tickets on Bassnectar's webstie thinking it would be a mere Bassnectar show with maybe a special guest or two.  Well, we arrived at Fabric already feeling incredibly "friendly" and ready to go at about 9:30 and after 30 minutes of waiting in line we were let in.  Immediately employees began sprinting around the club stapling pieces of paper to the wall.  When we got closer we realized what we had gotten ourselves into.  The paper contained the schedule for the evenings 8 hour dubstep extravaganza, officially entitled "Beatdown 2010".

18 differents acts performed on 3 stages from 10:00-6:00 in the morning.  We compiled our list of artists to see and executed to perfection.  As we walked further and further underground (the only thing above ground level in this club is the coat check), we got to the almighty Stage 1.  We saw (in order): Mutants, Jagga, Rusko, Doctor P, and Bassnectar.  My favorite performance was Bassnectar, the guy is just insane and his light show was the best by far, his bass literally rocked the place as well.  Second was a tie between Rusko and Doctor P.  Rusko is definitely a crowd-pleaser and his music brought the party, people were going insane.  Doctor P was sick as well, his set surprised me, his shit was so heavy and the crowd was unreal during his set, the place was nuts.  Mutants and Jagga are somewhat lesser known but they were both very very good and we were able to get really close to the stage for both.  Bottom line is this is something that would never happen in America and I am so glad I got to experience this.  How was your Friday night?

Anyway, I could talk all damn day about this ridiculous show, but I'll give you what you're here for.  Some brand new music.  I haven't had a post in a couple days so I've got some real good stuff for you.

Porter Robinson - I'm On Fire (Original Mix)
Porter Robinson has been on here before, but only as a remixer.  This is a little taste of his original work, which is just as good as his remix work.  Robinson is an up and coming electro-house superstar.  Keep an eye on him.

Example - Last Ones Standing (Doctor P Remix)
Come on, there's no way I could have not put some Doctor P on here after seeing how utterly insane his live show is.  Like I said, he is one of the heaviest and grimiest dubstep artists out there, so if you like that heavy shit that bumps like it should, check this jam out.

Nadia Ali - Rapture (Avicii New Generation Mix)
Quickly climbing to the top of the Beatport charts, this jam is a genuine banger and is essential for any pregame or party that wants to achieve total ragetasticness.  Some say that Avicii is like a baby Tiesto, could be true but this track does make him one thing: seriously awesome.

Jamiroquai - Blue Skies (Flux Pavilion Remix)
I've still got the dubstep fever after that epic show.  So here's another fresh ass dubstep track to end this post off.  Totally ragin' and heavy as shit which you can expect on the reg from Flux Pavilion.  Definitely one of my favorite dubstep guys.  Everything he drops is pure fire.

See You Bitches Next Week

Alright, I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a weekend in London to see Bassnectar and Rusko at Club Fabric in the heart of merry Londontown, and I am fucking jacked up for it to say the least.  Should be an epic weekend with the aid of some prime substances.  So here's my farewell post for the weekend showcasing the two artists I will be seeing live.  Look for videos on the Ready2Rage facebook page upon my return.  Peace.

Bassnectar - Boombox (Bassnectar and ill.gates Remix)
Original is great, but this shits better.  Whoever ill.gates is he brings the fire to every collaboration with Bassnectar.

Bassnectar - Here We Go
Favorite song off my favorite Bassnectar album (Timestretch, I would say Wildstyle Method but its only an EP technically).  This song bumps real hard and its going to burn the house down live.

Rusko - Cockney Thug
Pretty much the essential Rusko track.  Great Alan Ford voice sample (Brick Top from Snatch, one of the greatest movie villains ever).  Ready to get my wubwubwub on to this one.

Care to Party?

Slavemon here with some skanky dubstep to melt some brains. As some well know dubstep has blown up the scene in America this year so were sure to see some hot new artists and fresh material comen in on the reg

Here's two essential dubstep tunes from this summer by Flux and Masuka for anyone who truly wants to increase the weirdness without freaking people out too much...

N.A.S.A. (Feat. Kanye West, Santigold & Lykke Li) - Gifted (Masuka Remix)

Freestylers - Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix)

Two songs released from the UK this year that iv'e been jamming to recently. The first is a great remix of keep the fire by bar 9. Its got a relaxed feel to it and then hits u with a solid drop coupled with some sweet bass wobble.

Goldhawks - Keep the fire (Bar 9 Remix)

the second song by modestep comes straight out of london. Its got a different feel to it starting off with a regular tempo with some classic dub bass then it speeds up and takes you to a whole new level of filthiness

Modestep - Sunlight

Wolfgang Gartner Essential Mix is Bananas, New Deadmau5 Track Released

Just got finished listening to this week's Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, with Wolfgang Gartner on the 1s and 2s of course.  Let me tell you, this shit is phenomenal.  If you need a 2 hour playlist to keep a party bumping, this is what you need to throw on.  62 tracks in total, and it flows oh so nicely.  I have included the link to download the entire mix below, be patient its 2 hours and its 273 MB.  Pete Tong also dropped yet another cut off Deadmau5's upcoming album "4x4=12".  The track "Right This Moment" is definitely in my top 3 favorites off the album so far, and there are 8 (count em, 8) tracks that are already out there on the interwebs to download fresh off the new album.  So, enjoy the Wolfgang mix as well as this newly ripped Deadmau5 track, serious bangers.  The Deadmau5 tune ends a little abruptly but what are ya gonna do, it's ripped from the full set so you can't get it perfect.  On a side note, I have a shit ton of work coming up in the next few days and I'll be in London from Friday-Sunday to see Bassnectar, so expect to see some fantastic work from other authors.  Let's see what ya got.

Dubstep Revisited

I haven't been posting a ton of dubstep on the blog recently, don't know why.  I suppose I don't have the greatest resources for brand new dubstep shit that comes out, I follow more Electro/House/Hip Hop type sources for all the music I put up here.  So, I just thought I would throw a few recent as well as older dubstep tracks up to quench the thirst of all our readers.  As the blog grows, I'm sure we will find an author who is a dubstep specialist...

Doctor P - Big Boss
I just started listening to Doctor P, and this is by far his hardest hitting track.  Awesome riffs in there, and the wobble (or screech) bass in there feels like you are getting electronic insanity injected directly into your brain.  Woah.  Yeah, download it.

The Pixies - Where Is My Mind (Bassnectar Remix)
Most people will recognize this song, whether or not they have heard the Bassnectar remix.  One of the first Bassnectar tracks I ever had.  Had to put it up, I am seeing him live on Friday night in London.  Super jacked up for that.

Boy Crisis - Dressed to Digress (Nero Remix)
Nero is one of my favorite dubstep artists, along with the likes of Borgore, Flux Pavilion, and Rusko.  Everything he touches is an instant classic, and this song is no different.  Great song.  Wub.

Fresh New Releases

Ladies and gents, here are a few high quality releases climbing the charts on BeatPort.  For those who aren't aware, Beatport is essentially the iTunes for electronic music, some songs are more expensive than iTunes but I am pretty sure the bitrate on nearly everything is higher on Beatport.  That being said, you all know how much love I had for Skrillex, and dude has literally had 7 out of the top 10 spots for 2 weeks running after the release of "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites".  So, I have given you my top Skrillex jam from that EP along with a few other new releases (and I mean new, shit came out like 2 days ago).  Enjoy and keep raging.

Skrillex - Rock N Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain)
Awesome track from Skrillex.  I love every song off this EP, definitely worth downloading.  It's got some dubstep sound, some house, some heavy, dirty electro on it, and even a bit of cracked out rap.

Spencer & Hill - GoGo Girl (Dirtyloud Remix)
Another artist that never dissapoints me, Spencer & Hill are unreal.  This remix just got released, I believe the original has been in circulation for a while.  This is one hard, heavy track, so prepare yourself and let it bump.

Michael Woods - Nitro
Off his freshly released "Nitro EP".  Michael Woods is fairly new to me, but when I saw the tracklisting for Deadmau5's new album and saw that one of the tracks was the "I Said (Michael Woods Remix)" I had to check him out.  This track is deep rooted in house, it is a genuine banger.  Don't miss out.

Daft Punk+Tron=Holy Santa Claus Shit

For anyone who is unaware, the upcoming movie Tron: Legacy looks unreal, and Daft Punk is doing the entire score for the movie, meaning every song you hear in the movie will be a Daft Punk original, new track.  Shit is in 3D too, dear lord.  The soundtrack drops on December 7th and will have at least 12+ original Daft Punk tracks, and while they have been producing on other people's shit for a few years now, this will be their first full length album since Alive 2007, thats right, 2007.  Here is a sick remixed cut off the soundtrack which aired with a 2 minute teaser trailer the other day, they only gave away a snippet of the song, but here it is in its entirety, "Derezzed" remixed by NTEIBINT.

Daft Punk - Derezzed (NTEIBINT Edit)

So Fly

Real quick, before Thirsty Thursday official commenses, I wanna throw this remix up.  This is a solidified banger house remix of Far East Movement's "Like A G6".  Remixed by Temabes, who has been featured on Big10 a few times, this track is an absolute rage starter.  Great revamp of the song, it keeps a lot of the rhythms the same, just changing octaves or synth settings, goooooooood shit.  Enjoy.

Far East Movement - Like A G6 (Temabes Remix)

Happy Halloween, Bitches

Got a couple scary good heavy hittin tracks for you in honor of a great holiday like Halloween.  Halloween is a great time to have one huge quality rage before it starts to get cold.  It's also a fantastic excuse for girls to dress ruthlessly slutty without any shame, thank you ladies.  Bump these tracks loud if you are celebrating tonight the right way, and if you've already had your fill of Halloween partying, get up off your ass and do some more.

Example - Kickstarts (Bar 9 Remix)
A Brit actually showed me this song, I have found them a valuable source in finding out about the newest dubstep shit that pops up over here across the pond.  This song is nice because it has a verse of rap and a verse of chilled out lyrics with an unreal wobble bass line sandwiched right in between.  Turn it up.

Dada Life - Unleash the F**king Dada
This one has been blowing up for the past few days.  All over a lot of music sites.  Sits in the Top 15 at Beatport and is gaining strength every day.  Sick Electro-House track, awesome synth tracks and there and it doesn't quit in the entire 6 minutes.

Spencer & Hill ft. Lil Jon - Less Go! (Porter Robinson Remix)
Spencer & Hill with Lil Jon, unreal.  Even though Lil Jon doesn't have a verse or anything, its still awesome to hear his voice on the track.  Spencer & Hill make it a qualified banger as usual, they don't fuck around.

An Onslaught of New Tunes

The posts have been lacking a bit for the past few days, except for some great work by my bro Stud Nibs.  I haven't been putting that much brand spankin' new music up for you all because of work, odd sleeping hours, stressful events, so on and so forth.  So I present to you an absolute bombardment of (mostly) brand new face melting, boner-inducing, all around fantastic jams.  Enjoy.

Mimosa - Psychedelic Stereo
Courtesy of PB&J, this jam right here is incredibly unique.  It's got hard hitting synth tracks, but it doesn't go over the top and completely assault you with ridiculous samples.  Chilled out, slower bass and drums than the usual stuff, but it makes for a great, chilled out electro track.

Lil Wayne - 30 Minutes to New Orleans
Supposedly a cut off the Carter IV, which is apparently being released November 5th (the day Wayne gets out of prison).  If anyone has seen the Carter Documentary, this song is being played in the background in the scene where Wayne is watching the Celtics/Lakers NBA Final in his tour bus and cracked out off sizzurp.  Sick track, cannot wait for the release of Carter IV.

Skrillex - Kill Everybody (Bare Noize Remix)
Don't be alarmed by the title, Skrillex has not gone the way of a heavy metal screamo artist.  This is a cut off his second EP, "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites", the entire thing is worth downloading, you can find it pretty easily online.  That being said, this track bumps super hard.  The lyrics are weird as fuck but that's not important.  This track is a certified banger as are most songs Skrillex puts out.  Well done.

Skrillex - Scatta (w/ Foreign Beggars & Bare Noize)
Double dose of Skrillex, what could be better.  Little bit different than classic Skrillex, there are two rap verses in there, which is pretty damn cool.  The middle of this track is a total onslaught of electro insanity, a must for any Skrillex fan.

Tayyib Ali - The Right Time
I have said it before and I'll say it again, Tayyib Ali is one of the best young, talented rappers out there.  He brings a very chill, laid back feel to all the tunes he puts out and whoever is producing his beats is flawless.  If you've like the Tayyib I have been putting up, grab this one for sure.

Afrojack - Amanda
Afrojack continues to dominate the Electro-house scene on a day to day basis.  Let's just hope he doesn't go the mainstream road of David Guetta, who is now producing shlock for useless artists like Flo Rida.  I say this because if any of you have seen recently, he produced a song for the Black Eyed Peas called "The Time (The Dirty Bit)".  The song itself is not bad but lets hope we don't see any T-Pain tracks produced by Afrojack in the future.  Still definitely top 5 electro artists out there for the time being.

New Pretty Lights EP!!!

Alright, this EP literally dropped 20 MINUTES AGO.  The final album in a trilogy that Pretty Lights has released this year, it's called "Glowing in the Darkest Night".  Sick album cover too.  You can get it for free like all of Pretty Lights' albums at www.prettylightsmusic.com.  Just go to downloads and it should be right there in front of yo face!  I won't post any song for you to download because the entire album is free and every song is worth having in your iTunes arsenal.  However my favorite tracks are as follows...

1. Drift Away

6. Looking for Love (But Not So Sure)

7. Out of Time

That New New

I have been bumping that Bassnectar I put up on the last post all week.  Once again, let me tell you the album is SICK.  That being said, here are a few new jams.  There were a few songs in the J-Crew long ass mix that I am trying to figure out, especially the first one, so I'll have some of those for you soon enough.  In the meantine here are a few hot new releases.  Enjoy.

Breakdown - Pet Monster
This song dropped earlier in the week.  It's got some great build ups and an addictive main riff.  Bass is good and heavy as well.  This track is a must for electro-house fans.  Will make you want to move your feet and bump your head fa sho.

La Roux - In For the Kill (Skrillex Remix)
As you all know, Skrillex is fucking dirty.  La Roux gets a lot of their songs remixed by dubstep and electro artists, and most of what comes out of it is very good.  Heavy, tough electro track as you can usually expect from Skrillex.  The version of this song with Kanye is pretty good too, check it out when you get a chance.

Wale - Mike Tomlin (Black & Yellow)
You're sure to recognize this beat immediately, this song is essentially a remix of Wiz Khalifa's "Black & Yellow".  The beat is sick as you all know and Wale brings some insane flow to the track.  Haven't had a good old fashioned rap track on here for a while so I figured you would all enjoy this.  Cheers.
